The Moments: No. 8

God is Great, God is good
Let us thank him for our food
By his hands we all are fed
Give us Lord our Daily Bread
Amen

A daily moment I want to remember.  This is the grace we say most often but Holidays and Celebrations often call for more thoughtful and individualized Thanks and Grace.

The Moments: No.7

I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.  For me they are the role model for being alive.  ~Gilda Radner

Oh the fun moments that this blue ball has seen. Edna got it on her first Christmas ( 2005)  She promptly chewed the handle off it.  Otherwise it has served us all well  for the last 8 years.  We throw it and she runs like crazy to get it. Even now when we can see that she has discomfort after a "ball " session , she won't give it up. It is weather independent, she will play with it snow, sleet and rain .   Looking forward to many more moments with his old ball and Edna.

Magical Monday . . . .

It's not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something. May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of personkind, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely.”

The Moments: No 6.

 Innovation, Simplicity

“The patterns are simple, but followed together, they make for a whole that is wiser than the sum of its parts. Go for a walk; cultivate hunches; write everything down, but keep your folders messy; embrace serendipity; make generative mistakes; take on multiple hobbies; frequent coffeehouses and other liquid networks; follow the links; let others build on your ideas; borrow, recycle; reinvent. Build a tangled bank.”
― Steven Johnson, Where Good Ideas Come From: The Natural History of Innovation

“Nature is pleased with simplicity. And nature is no dummy”
― Isaac Newton

Something about this Photo  that I love,  The gears complexity that  when added to something else makes a greater whole , , , the simplicity of natures beauty, yet the complexity to make this seed fall aerodynamically and create yet a new and complex tree, a thing of beauty and sustainability.

The Moments #5

America is the story of everyday people who did extraordinary things.
A story woven deep into the fabric of our society.

Marco Rubio

Always interesting to know what parts our ancestors played.  I have a Great Grandfather who helped make the bridges and roads as part of the CCC  for Letchworth State Park.  This is a large NYS Park often referred to the Grand Canyon of the East.

The Moments:  Part of Daisy Yellow's October Challenge found here.

My fabric will become a table runner or small wall hanging. Stay tuned.

The Moments: No.~3

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.
~Helen Keller

All the bright colors of Autumn certainly bring joy to the gray days we have frequently in this part of the country.  We have just had a stretch of beautiful sunny days but are headed into about 10 days of gray/rain.
