December Daily or almost . . . .

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”
Roald Dahl

Top photo - camera twisted or twirled on the whole tree
Bottom photo- focused on one white light and glass ornament then the camera was turned.

I love playing around with taking this type of photo because you just never know what you will get- it is always magic!   I think the top looks like a busy city at night and the bottom a magic rabbit hole. There is more depth to it.

Try to find some magical moments in your days this Holiday season.

The Moments Nov. no. 33

" But for ones health as you say, it is very necessary to
work in the garden and see the flowers growing"
Vincent van Gogh

Just a little Picasa Play with a traditional Sun Flower.  I liked how this turned out.

The Moments No. 14

"Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.” Rachael Carson

So this maple seed is suspended by spider web string from a Maple Tree, it hangs about 3-4 feet down.  It was hard to get a picture because it moved around in  the breeze so much. It is very cool to look at.  This picture cannot show you just how suspended it is but believe me it is really something. I hope everyone is familiar with Rachael Carson

Just Playing . . . with Picasa Image procesing . . . .

Well I had lots of fun playing around with adding fun techniques to photos that I had taken.  Pencil sketch, Saturation, Polaroid, Duo tone I could spend a lot of time with this. . . .  then I had the challenge of moving said pictures to a file that I could access in order to upload them to my blog . . . I am not as technical of an individual as I am creative.  It is a hard workout for my brain to make all things technical do what they are actually supposed to do but I keep trying. I am looking forward to trying out more techniques in the near future!  I am trying to decide which one I like the best, I really like the Polaroid option and in this batch I like the Pencil sketch.

Feeding the Chickadees

This park is near to us and a very popular activity any time of the year.  There is a hiking trail and if you bring birdseed, stand still and wait  you then will be treated to a visit from a Chickadee, Titmouse or a nuthatch.  The later 2 are not as common but they do get over their shyness and visit. I was lucky to catch the last one in flight. This is unique to this park but I wonder what other people are able to feed or watch up close where they live. We are spoiled to live so close.  I like the feeling of the little feet as they grip onto your hand.  My daughter likes the sound the wings make as they fly in to land. Sometimes they fight in order to get on your hand next. Squirrels both Red and Gray were all around our feet while we were feeding them.

Blue

Go on over to Daisy Yellows Blog and see her post from Friday March 4th. This is my inspiration for my Blue photos. Know that I took more than 4 but will spare you all the brilliant blue in my life and home. Is blue a happy or sad color for you? When I think of the Bright blue sky and vast blue Ocean in its many shades of blue it clearly is a happy color but the blue tones of late winter afternoons when little to no sun is shining I think leads people to the more sad parts of Blue. " I am Blue" what does that look like? I think we all know what it feels like. Interesting how we attach colors to feelings. What color are you today? I think I am a Pink! I am wearing blue jeans and a golden colored shirt though.

4 times 4 Show and Tell

So this is a challenge I picked up from Fibra Artysta She Picked it up from Cart Before the Horse
Basically you go into your picture folders and go to the fourth folder and pick the 4th picture, then go to the next 4th folder and 4th picture in it. So in other wards a random way of peeking into your world of Photography!
