Remember . . .

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
~Lee Greenwood

A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself. ~Joseph Campbell

Memorial Day 2010 more Marching and flag planting, Marching with Boy Scouts marching in the Middle school band. IT is very hot and we try not to melt. In the cemetery it is quiet and we hear words to remember that those that have gone before us have gone with a purpose, to make our Country Free and give us opportunities that much of the world still struggles for. They have gone out to be peacemakers to live by example and to do the right thing. They are good citizens. They have given up families, jobs and lived in less than adequate surroundings to do these things and more. If you see an armed service member- say Thank you. We see and hear about all those that are in Combat but behind each of them are 100's more providing support, taking care of the injured, trying to make better equipment or improve communication so very many things that all come together to make the soldiers job as easy as it can be, Is that ever an easy job? So today, pause and quietly give thanks. It is because of those that have gone before us that we can honor them in this way.
